The Museum Of Illusions – Coming Soon to Dubai

It’s all about tricking the eyes and entertaining the mind. There are several such museums of illusions all over the world, and now Dubai is to have its own museum of illusions. Visitors into the UAE and residents of the country will now have a fascinating new experience awaiting them; in just a couple of weeks! As for Instagrammers, the options will be limitless! We take a peek at what to expect at the Dubai Museum of Illusions:

Museum with a difference

There will be no historical artifacts here, no paintings or dinosaur fossils or any of the stuff you can see at a regular museum. This museum will feature optical illusions that are designed to trick the mind and to amaze!

Museum of Illusions

The first such museum opened its doors in Zagreb, Croatia, in 2015. Now many major cities of the world such as Los Angeles, Vienna, Ljubljana, Barcelona, Zadar, Kuala Lumpur, Muscat have such installations. These places help us get an insight into the way our brains work – so this is educational, but in a fun, fascinating way.

The exhibits

Visitors to the Museum of Illusions can experience photo illusions and optical illusions; based on the findings and creations of some of the top brains. The Ames room, the Vortex tunnel, the rotated room, anti-gravity room, infinity room, Rubin's vase, hollow face illusion, the mirage, the bottomless pit are some of the attractions.

Unique experience for all ages

Students and young people would find this to be an engaging and educational experience. Even older people would find that the exhibits will challenge some preconceived notions and force them to rethink some of their fundamental beliefs about the world around.

Museum of Illusions now in Dubai

The latest of this chain of museums will open its doors in Dubai this September. Starting 12 September 2018, the people of Dubai will be able to visit the new museum at Al Seef near the Dubai Creek. The new museum will feature 80 interactive exhibits that are cleverly designed to trick the brain into seeing what is not there and to see something quite different from what is actually there!

Interactive museum

Unlike a lot of other museums that do not allow photography, particularly flash photography since it can damage exhibits; this one permits and even encourages photography. So for social media users, this is a great option for creating unique posts and shares.

For cosmopolitan Dubai

According to the manager of the Dubai edition of the Museum of Illusions Varvara Svischeva, the exhibits are carefully chosen to appeal to the widest range of visitors, keeping in mind the cosmopolitan mix of people in Dubai. Visitors can enjoy the feeling of being in a gravity less space, feeling as though the ground beneath their feet is shifting and even feel as though they are shrinking /expanding!
