The #CoupleChallenge Is What You May Expect – But Also Not

There is no shortage of 'challenges' --- Another day, another silly internet challenge, sigh!  They may be a dime a dozen, but the netizens never seem to get tired of them. All-day yesterday, #CoupleChallenge was trending on Twitter, so clearly people cannot have enough of these. People responded to the #CoupleChallenge in many different ways – some expected, some rather unexpected.

All over social media

The couple challenge was on Twitter, Facebook and all over social media.

Where there is a challenge it must be accepted.

This heartfelt message

Some took up the challenge to send out an appreciative message to their partners.

Some ideal couples

Some couples are together because they love doing things together – like this, maybe?

Some

…Less than ideal couples

Many…

…Posted images of divine couples as part of the challenge.

Partner for the day

This is also a part of the #CoupleChallenge, apparently.

What is the 'challenge' in this?

Now this would be a challenge, indeed!

Fakery!

Some thought that the #CoupleChallenge is just people being fake – the real ‘picture’ would be quite different.

Meanwhile singles

They had no one to pose with.

It is tough

Being single is tough when all others seem paired up.

Triangle trouble

Sometimes it is a real challenge to just be a couple.

This timeless pair

Rum and coke!

And this

Kachori-subzi is a staple in some parts of India.

Couple of the year

This is the couple that we cannot and should not do without this coronavirus year.

And then there is this couple

One of whom seems to care very little about the other.

Or these

This takes a dig at the so-called hug diplomacy that we saw so much of in pre-COVID times.

Some had no interest in the couple challenge

Some had a better idea

Some of the tweeple were not interested in the #CoupleChallenge, they thought that in these uncertain times, survival itself is a challenge.
