In the year 2001, Australia put up a giant score of 445, against which India was all out for 171, in the first innings. However, the Indian innings was brought back from the dead by Dravid (180) and Laxman (281), which turned the match around.

In the final match of Natwest Trophy in the year 2002, when India was teetering on the edge of defeat, having made a meagre 146/2, in response to England’s huge 326, Mohd. Kaif and Yuvraj Singh, the two youngsters led India towards a victory that seemed impossible. And yes, Dada’s famous shirtless cheer act.

Indian Under 19 team lifted the world cup in the year 2008, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, beating South Africa by 12 runs.

When India toured Pakistan in the year 2004, and Virendra Sehwag’s bat simply refused to back down, to ultimately score the first triple ton in the history of Indian cricket. He is still remembered as “Multan ka Sultan” for the match. And yes, the fact that India clinched both the Test and ODI series.

Winning the first T20 World Championship, under the captaincy of M S Dhoni, and that too by beating Pakistan in a nail biting finale.

India brought laurels once again, as it bagged the World Championship in the year 2011, which coincidentally, was also Sachin Tendulkar’s last World Cup.

The 2007 T20 World Cup is not only remembered for the winning streak, but also for the fact that in the match vs England, Yuvraj hit one six after the other, and soon it became a six-sixes over, off poor Stuart Broad, who looked almost ready to cry, by the end of it.

After having won the T20 World Cup in 2007, and lifting the World Cup in 2011, M S Dhoni and team again lifted the Champions Trophy, in the year 2013, and Virat Kohli cruised through the celebrations, Gangnam style.
