Yes it is plain, unmitigated gossip. It is a prurient interest in the lives of celebrities; particularly the tragedies of those in the limelight, to speak about celebrity relationships and breakups. However, when there is news about the possibility of a breakup; scant three months after the marriage of Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas, one's curiosity is piqued.
OK! Magazine reported that the 36 year old Bollywood star and her 26 year hold pop-sensation husband are headed for a split. Now that they are getting to really know one another, they are fighting over everything and apparently their ‘marriage is hanging by a thread’ says the article. According to ‘sources’. Priyanka is ‘controlling’ and ‘has a temper’. Also according to the publication, Nick's family is ‘begging’ him to end the marriage because they thought of PC as a mature woman who turned out to be a ‘party girl.’ The article further says that the impending ‘divorce’ would result in a major battle over assets since there was no pre-nuptial agreement signed before marriage.
Amid the ‘divorce’ rumours, Priyanka attended a Jonas Brothers concert. Though she has been a part of the hugely popular Jonas Brothers music video Sucker for You, this was her first ever live concert and apparently it was ‘incredible’.
Chopra is proud of the three brothers and thinks of them as family, as she says via this Instagram post.
At the concert, a female fan threw her bra at the brothers, PC playfully waved it around. She clearly seemed to be enjoying herself.
Team PC as well as Chopra's cousin Parinieeti, have rubbished the divorce rumours categorically.
According to reports, Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas plan to sue the publication for the false and unsubstantiated story they published. The article appears to be based partly on unreliable ‘sources’, partly on conjecture and some fabrication – also completely one sided, since it paints PC in a negative light while saying nothing about the other half of the equation.
So she is ‘controlling’ and has a temper – ho hum, so they said about every assertive, independent, successful woman ever. She acts like a 21 year old ‘party girl’ – which is terrible, because women in their mid-30s should rightly stay at home and busy themsevles in domesticity and bearing children presumably. It was a high profile celebrity wedding – so of course, it is doomed to failure. They got married in a ‘hurry’ – because she is older so she must be cradle snatching; with her biological clock ticking and all.
The fact that the couple seem devoted to each other and the fact that PC seems to enjoy being a part of the Jonas family is a mere bagatelle. Why let facts get in the way of a lovely, salacious story and the resultant schadenfreude – so what if it is far removed from reality.
