We have access to so many OTT streaming platforms that have really become a part of our lives; especially over the duration of the pandemic. Netflix is like first among equals out of all these platforms. It has the widest range of content and if also costs the most. And yet, we tend to have certain problems with Netflix – and this tweet started off a conversation about all those problems:
Netflix has numerous documentaries, series and movies of all possible genres – but the one thing you come looking for it doesn’t have.
Nah! We don’t have that here.
But we are disappointed.
Sorry we don’t have that but perhaps we can interest you in something completely not like that?
Get recommended a show about kids who make TikTok videos. So not what we were looking for.
I cannot count the times this happened to me – I search for a movie title, Google tells me it’s on Amazon Prime. I hopefully go to Prime Video and it smugly tells me – not available in your region or some such.
Why give people false hope!
Why do you ask? Did Google say I had that movie?
It’s really annoying when the subtitles just say ‘speaking X language.’ We don’t just want to know what language they're speaking in, we want to know what they're saying.
Who watches a movie three times! Netflix wants you to move on to other things and what other content.
Venom: Let There Be Carnage just released and since this is a Marvel character, people have been searching for it on Disney+. These are the suggestions instead.
When I put Pink Panther (I was hoping for the original Peter Sellers or the newer Steve Martin) in the Netflix search box, I got Johnny English and Mr. Bean.
…You just missed it.
You want to watch the movies in the right sequence but Netflix is like we don’t do that here.
Netflix will not have the movie you want. Amazon Prime video will suggest that you buy the DVD and Disney+ will have some totally unrelated suggestions. Dissatisfied? Maybe you want the days of Doordarshan to return?
