No Memes about Mushkil Hai Mishraji Please, Says Pankaj Tripathi

The thriller series Criminal Justice aired on Hotstar in April 2019 and was very well received. The second season of Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors is now slated for release on 24th December 2020. While the trailer of the upcoming series has grabbed attention, it is the phrase Mushkil Hai Mishraji that seems really to have caught everyone’s fancy and it is this that seems meme-worthy.

Criminal Justice behind Closed Doors trailer

The story is about Anu Chandra (played by Kriti Kulhari) who is accused of and confesses to murdering her own husband. Pankaj Tripathi is Madhav Mishra, Advocate who is defending her; but finds that this isn't the open-and-shut case that it seems to be. The second season will also feature Anupriya Goenka and Mita Vashisht from the first season along with Jisshu Sengupta.

Don’t make memes

It seems to be a unique promotional/marketing gambit – don’t make memes about Mishraji, says Tripathi so of course people made memes.

Tough case

The client has confessed – how does her lawyer then save her? It's difficult Mishraji, said many celebs.

Vikrant Massey

He starred in the first season of the series. How will Mishraji save his client when there is an eye witness as well as a confession, asks Massey. Iss baar Mushkil hai, Mishraji he says.

And the memes started

The Donald is known to be a compulsive tweeter. It’s difficult to give up.

#MushkilHaiMishraJi

People are looking forward to the second season of the series that won popular acclaim and award nominations as well.

Can’t stop

These days, any popular content becomes fodder for memes: any one look, one line, one scene that catches the public imagination.

The recent cricket debacle

In the test series down under, India recently collapsed to a humiliating defeat and the hands of the Australians – 36 all down and out.

Ravi Shastri

Recently the butt of all alcohol-related jokes seems to be the head cricket coach and his supposed love for his tipple.

Badshah

He is like the king of remixes – it’s difficult to stop when people seem to lap up the old-wine-new-bottle formula.

Meanwhile petrol prices

This tweet suggests that fuel prices now seem to have developed an upward momentum that no one seems inclined to check.

Christopher Nolan

Making difficult, complex movies like Inception, Interstellar, Tenet etc. is this thing.  Simple is probably difficult for him.

Unlikely – by saying ‘don’t make memes’ he was saying precisely the opposite.

The tweeple obliged

#MushkilHaiMishraJi became a trending hashtag.

Mishraji and co are very happy

A trending hashtag is precisely the kind of pre-release publicity that a film or series requires. With #MushkilHaiMishraJi, Criminal Justice: Behind Closed Doors gets exactly what it wants. Clever, Tripathiji.
