The internet is full of videos of unique proposals – good and bad ideas, ones that end in a happily-ever-after or terrible embarrassment. Some are simple, some are elaborate. Some are natural, some are awkward. This one should have been natural and non-awkward when this guy decided to propose on the beach. However, the little toddler had other ideas:
He goes down on one knee, she says yes and they kiss – and then they race after the little kid who decided to do this own thing.
And he raced away – that is cute!
There’s a romantic proposal a mischievous kid... and it’s all funny and cute, thought most people.
They thought the couple was neglecting the wellbeing of the child.
What if something happened to the kid! There were a lot of people being self-righteous and disapproving about the whole thing.
This tweet expresses the view that this is akin to child endangerment and that social services ought to look into the situation.
A proposal is also important, after all.
The one proposing, the one accepting the proposal and the camera person – everyone… for possibly endangering the kid!
It was clear that the adults had their eye on the child, they were clearly hurrying through their important moment so that they could chase after the kid and make sure he was safe.
It is quite clear that the adults weren't being irresponsible or stupid here.
She has to look out for her kid, but she doesn’t want to hurt the man she loves who is clearly making a big gesture.
…With a difference.
A lot of people just saw this as a couple of attention seekers endangering a baby for their own reasons.
As a parent, one of the things you realise really quickly is that kids find new and unforeseeable ways to get into trouble.
When there is a small kid around, things like this are a given. Being a parent means vigilance 24x7, and a journey of constant discovery. That kid running full-on into the ocean as this guy proposed to the woman is just one example.
