For those that like monster movies, here is something even better – a mega monster movie with a double dose of those monsters. So, rather like two supers squaring off against each other (remember the brooding Batman vs Superman?) we now have mega monsters King Kong and Godzilla going head to head. The announcement of a trailer release had been made, we had seen teasers such as this one. This had everyone excited about the Godzilla vs. King Kong trailer drop on Sunday, 24th January.
Several people shared this bizarre clip presumably of a prior film featuring some laughable special effects.
People had been waiting a long time for the trailer release.
The wildly viral image of Bernie Sanders with his mittens at the inauguration of Joe Biden found its way into this conversation as well.
Clearly there are lot of people out there who love this sort of thing.
Clearly a lot of people thought about that other big battle.
Apparently everything reminds people of something else.
A great trailer does not a great movie make, we know that. So there are a lot of fans who want to keep their expectations modest.
This is the bare bones of the plot: monkey fights lizard – the monkey being a giant age and lizard being a giant fire breathing beast of some sort.
In the previous movies, Kong is a little over 100 feet. Now he is almost four times that size. He is now larger than Skull Island – but then he’d have to be – he has to take on Godzilla.
Who will win? People have their own favourites.
The film stars Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry and others.
Most loved the trailer while some had observations to make about Mechagodzilla.
All will be revealed when Godzilla vs. Kong releases simultaneously in theatres and on HBO Max on 26 March 2021. The film will also be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
