Eid al-Adha Holidays in the UAE – What Do You Plan to Do?

Eid al-Adha Holidays in the UAE were announced recently since the Zul Hijjah moon was spotted on Saturday August 11. It would seem that some lucky people may have as many as 6 days off! While some breaks begin from Tuesday, August 20 others begin on Wednesday, August 21. If you don’t already have plans, here are some ideas you can use:

Free parking, extended public transport

It is announced that motorists will not have to pay parking fees at public car parks (except for the multi-level parking terminals) in Dubai for the long weekend from Sunday August 19 till Friday, August 24. Metro, bus and ferry schedules have also been announced for the weekend and some facilities will have extended hours or operate round the clock to facilitate easier travel.

Three day festival at JBR

The Jumeriah Beach Residence offers plenty for everyone to do in terms of eating out and shopping; with deals up to 50% off. The Butcha Steakhouse has special happy hour deals, Bianca Mozzarella & Co offer seasonal drinks and desserts, Fratelli la Bufala has a special Eid menu for a set price, while Seven Sands offers a special local dining experience. The Fly Cup experience is available at 20% off if you opt for combo tickets.

Staycation options in Abu Dhabi

You could take a holiday elsewhere or you could just opt for a pampering break close to where you are; a ‘staycation’. Abu Dhabi’s Anantara Eastern Mangroves is offering special two-night deals with free upgrades + dining and spa discounts, while Al Raha Beach Hotel offers a special family package plus discounts. The eco-friendly resort of Sir Bani Yas Island’s Al Yamm Villa Resort by Anantara also has a special deal for villa stays, island activities and boat transfers.

Fireworks

Venues across Dubai will have firework displays on several days of the long weekend. There will be two days of fireworks and music at the Festival Bay of Dubai Festival City. La Mer, the Beach and Al Seef are other locations where you can take in the fireworks and also enjoy some leisure and dining options.

Star performers

Singing superstar Balqees will be giving a free Eid concert at Dragon Mart 2 retail complex. Award winning Filipina star Morissette will be performing her hit Morissette is Made concert at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
