One has to be careful about what one says on social media – you never know what could ruffle some sensitive feathers out there. So when someone started a thread on the kind of unpopular opinions about Bollywood that could get one into trouble online (read getting trolled, abused and even threatened) there were many who chimed in with their many and unpopular views and opinions.
This has happened to most of us who have an opinion and are also on social media – at some point or another. You say something and everyone takes it personally; makes it a point to ‘correct’ your gross misconception.
Everyone has an opinion on the film Tamasha – they either hate it or love it – and will tell you in detail why.
Alia Bhat is seen to be the exception among the star-kids-who-can’t-act brigade. Deepika Padukone is largely considered to be one of the most beautiful women of the Hindi film industry. Of course there are many who disagree.
This is typically what people say about Shah Rukh Khan (and receive major trolling), but whatever.
It is sad that new talent didn’t get a chance and old women continued to voice songs for young women. I am a massive fan of both Asha and Lata, but I said for years that we could hear the tremor of age, particularly in Lata's voice literally decades before she stopped singing.
The men go on and on – the women apparently have one-third the shelf-life.
Actors like Akshay Kumar continue to play the ‘young hero’ though well into their 50s.
I agree with this assessment and I have to add – he has the same expression in his gutkha ads as well.
Raj Kumar Rao and Ayushmann Khurrana are known to do unconventional roles; often in non-formulaic films and do them darned well. However, there are those who feel that they aren't very good at their jobs.
There are many who grew up swooning over the love story narrated in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Others did not – I count myself in the numbers that believe this to be an extremely mediocre movie.
This is mostly true, especially that last bit. In Hindi films the sounds of the punch, slap, crash, cracking bone/jaw/teeth are so exaggerated as to be silly.
To my mind, Alia Bhatt is a genuinely good actor – the rest receives no argument from me.
Someone decided to diss the Big B himself – and invited the wrath of many.
…Right now, the kind of hate and trolling that Bollywood actors and the industry in general receive, this is certainly an unpopular opinion.
