With thousands of farmers camped out on the borders of Delhi for over a year, this protest was heard around the world. Various ways were used to intimidate, harass, demotivate and demonise the protestors but they stayed firm. Ultimately the government backed down.

It was a good year for Indian sport – by which of course we don’t mean just cricket. Indian athletes did well at the Olympics and Paralympics as well.

This was the year that Indians really woke up to the potential of cryptocurrency as an investment option. The volatility of the virtual currencies, their promotion from various celebs, all made news.
