Sometimes, we can take a break from the serious stuff in life and giggle a little at the unintended funny consequences of someone's effort. So I have to warn you, this post is completely puerile and foolish; the humour is sophomoric at best! It’s about a little kid's school project to recreate the Taj Mahal; which ended up looking very, very different from what it was meant to be.
It was a school project wherein a student tried to recreate the majesty of the Taj. Twitter user Lori Mintzer decided to tweet this picture of the project. Since then this tweet has either been deleted or the privacy settings of the user have rendered it invisible.
Tweeple were greatly tickled by this representation of the monument that had been ‘built for a queen’ and at the purported size of it
Those minarets look remarkably unlike minarets, most people thought. People were trying not to think about what they actually looked like.
People felt that this was very artistic indeed and left it at that.
As an ‘erection’ that looks so much like a part of the male anatomy, this one triggered plenty of puns.
“Come via Agra to see the world greatest Erection.... Omg stop!!” said another tweet.
You decide.
Maybe this twitter user has their history mixed up? (Jehangir (Salim) was Shah Jahan’s father)
The UK teacher went ahead and tweeted the picture because she thought it was hilarious. Perhaps an Indian teacher would have had this reaction?
Some were appreciative of the fact that the child did the project by themselves. Clearly that is true.
Some thought that this was the original design by Shah Jahan. After all, as the old joke goes, Taj Mahal is the biggest erection by a man for a woman.
