These Athletes Were Actually Rockstars

Have you ever wondered what do the athletes like Ab De Villers, Dwayne Bravo, Brett Lee and others like them have in common EXCEPT the very obvious fondness for cricket? Well, they have been established music aficionados of their own time. Some of them even had a band of their own. Let's know more about these super stars who are actually rockstars.

1. Sir Donald Bradman

This extremely talented cricketer had a batting average of 99.94. But he was brilliant at something else as well. He had been an outstanding piano player and a music enthusiast since his childhood. His sister was a piano instructor who helped him with learning the musical instrument and playing it so well.

2. Brett Lee

Brett Lee, an astounding bowler of his times, is also a guitar player and he aces at his performance. He even produced a collaboration of a heavily accented Hindi song, which was actually Asha Bhonsale's, " You're The One For Me". MTV played it on loop! Remember?

3. Ab De Villers

This man of superman status is too talented to be a human! In 2010, he collaborated with Ampie du Preez to release a track called Maak Jou Drome Waar, which when translated to English from Afrikaans means: Make your dreams come true.

4. Dwayne Bravo

We have caught this man shaking up his leg a bit a lot many times in the cricket field. But well, if his singing abilities were to be judged, I'm not too sure. However, he is all pumped up for his upcoming singing ventures. He was also a part of a Tamil song recently. Bravo Bravo!

5. Henry Olonga

Giving in his career on the cricketing field, he tried to give a shot at singing. And surprisingly, it all went well. His operatic voice is hit amongst his fans who loves him as much as a singer as he was loved as a cricketer.

6. Mark Butcher

Jamaican roots were enough for him to groove over music and tap his leg on the beats of the music. However, little did anybody know about his love for singing. But, this love for music was validated when he paid a special tribute to Ben Hollioake in 2002. He sung "You’re Never Gone’" at the funeral which was one of his own compositions.

7. Curtly Ambrose

Though his days in cricket are over, but there's much more left in him. Recently, while confessing about his love for music, he said “We intend to have our own music, our own songs, in the near future. We’re ambitious; we don’t just want to stay in Antigua. We’re serious about the music and want to get our own songs and go global”.
