Impressive English Performance versus New Zealand & Champions Trophy Stats

The sixth match of the currently ongoing Champions Trophy was a clash between two Group A teams: England and New Zealand at Cardiff.  In spite of a captain's knock by Kane Williamson (87 off 98) the disciplined English bowling kept taking regular wickets keep the New Zealand batsmen off their stride. The Kiwis were dismissed for 223 runs Liam Plunkett being the pick of the English bowlers with his 4 wickets. Player of the match was J T Ball of England.

The points table so far

With the win yesterday, England have made it to the semi final, the first team from Group A to do so. Both of Australia's games were no-result matches. India is currently the leader of Group B.

Pakistan take on South Africa today

 Having lost their first match to India, Pakistan will have to play really well to stay in the game. South Africa already have one win to their name (defeating Sri Lanka) India’s next game will be on 8 June, Thursday when we will see an exciting clash between traditional rivals India and Sri Lanka.

Bangladesh’s Tamim Iqbal is the current batting leader in terms of the most runs scored and also having scored a century. Alex Hales of England has the distinction of most 50’s (two so far).

Bowling stats

England's Liam Plunkett has taken the most wickets so far (eight), Australia's Travis Head has the best bowling economy and Josh Hazlewood, also from Australia as the best bowling figures of any one innings (6/52).
