You cannot watch TV these days without viewing the Flipkart ad about YUnicorn, the flagship device from YU Televentures. The device is based on the Android platform and is priced at the enticing amount of just ₹12,999 Launched yesterday, the actual MRP is ₹14,999. So should you buy the YUnicorn? Why or why not?

YUreka and YUphoria were previous launches that were quite well received by the public. YUtopia, launched in December last year became very popular. The platform also offers other products such as YUFit, the fitness tracking band, YUPix a portable mobile printer with a cartridge unit and jYUice a power bank.

The YUnicorn is a 32 GB device that comes with the MediaTek Helio P10 and a 5.5 inch screen(FHD). The phone has a 4 GB RAM and 32GB ROM. There is a fingerprint sensor feature and the device as a 4,000 mAh battery.

The phone has a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera. The phone features an attractive metal unibody.  The phone runs on Android v5.1.1 (Lollipop) and something dramatically entitled “Android on Steroids OS”.

For the month of June 2016, the phone is available only on Flipkart, India’s largest online retailer via a flash sale that starts on 7th June. Offline retail will start in July.
