Whatever is the size of the company you work in, facing sexual harassment at your workplace is something you will never see coming. When you do face it, it can get difficult to understand what actions to take, with some even leaving their jobs without taking any action. Well, that’s not a wise option as you must face this horrible predicament bravely. Here, are five things you must do when facing sexual harassment at workplace:

Raise your voice

Like most of the women in our country, do not stay quiet if you feel that you are being harassed in office. Don’t fall under the cliché that things will automatically stop because they won’t and they might even get worse. So, be brave and raise your voice!

Inform HR

Whether it is the owner of the company who harassed you or it is just another employee, the first thing to do in this case is informing the HR Manager. There are a lot of internal policies and labour laws against sexual harassment and everyone falls under it. So, you may continue the job and the other person may get fired, or you may be able to leave the job with appropriate compensation. Find out your rights.

Inform your colleagues

It is important for the people who are working with you to know what you have been through. So, tell them everything you faced and ask them to help you out.

Go Legal

If your HR manager is under any sort of pressure and is not trying to help you, it is time that you hire a lawyer and slap your company with a law suit.

Keep Calm

Such cases take time in court to come to a fair result and during this period, it is your responsibility to hold on to your nerves and keep fighting for your rights.
