7 Bollywood Actors Who Tried Their Hands In TV But Failed

Amrita Rao

Known for her roles in successful flicks like Main Hoon Na, Vivah, Jolly LLB and Satyagraha, she made a comeback with TV in 2016, after her long hiatus. She was featured on a show called Meri Awaaz Hi Pehchaan Hai but could not hit it with the audience. Perhaps, her charisma had faded by then.

Arbaaz Khan

This gentleman from the 'Khan-clan' hosted a reality show called Power Couple that was aired on Sony TV during December last year. But unfortunately, the star failed to create the 'Khan' magic, and the show went off-air in just three months.

Malaika Arora

Malaika Arora too could not 'power' the show, as she co-hosted the reality series with ex-husband, Arbaaz Khan. Together, they failed to grab the attention of television viewers. However, interestingly, she hogged the limelight when teamed with other judges in reality shows such as Nach Baliye, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa and India's Got Talent, evidently increasing her fanbase.

Amruta Puri

She is known for her special roles in Hindi movies such as Aisha, Blood Money and Kai Po Che!. But then, did you know that she made her TV debut with a show called P.O.W. - Bandi Yuddh Ke as Harleen Kaur in 2016? Quite possible that you may not recollect, as the show did not succeed in garnering mass popularity.

Ruslaan Mumtaz

He made his Bollywood debut in 2007 with a movie named 'MP3 – Mera Pehla Pehla Pyaar'. After appearing in few more movies, he tried his luck with TV opposite Sangeeta Ghosh in a serial, Kehta Hai Dil Hee Le Zara. But the show had a lackluster effect in spite of a nice storyline and a good cast.

Abhishek Bachchan

Fortune sometimes doesn't favour the brave, as witnessed in the case of Abhishek Bachchan. He too experimented with TV as the host of a reality show called National Bingo Night in 2010. But, like his tryst with Box Office, TRPS too steered clear of his way. But we still have faith in his talent and are waiting for another Guru to happen, be it big or small screen.

Govinda

In 2001, he hosted the game show Jeeto Chappar Phaad Ke on Sony TV. It's hard to believe but this show ended in mere 13 episodes due to poor TRPs. No doubt he is really a good actor but we have to admit that he bombed in this medium of entertainment.

Zayed Khan

After much hype and a series of trailers, Zayed Khan made his TV debut on 30th October 2017, with a show titled Haasil. He plays the lead protagonist 'Ranvir Raichand' but whether he will be able to grab the attention of the audience and critics, is still a question yet to be answered. All we have to do is wait and watch, because the start has not been so great!
