Surely all the beauty pageant winners must be asking this question, when they wake up all tussled, yet amazingly beautidul, every morning. Though most of them naturally move into the glamour world of cinema and glitz, there are those few who don’t walk the beaten ramp. Though we love and respect all these epitomes of beauty who were brave enough to take the chance of losing in front of the whole world, there are some beauty queens who caught our attention because of the unconventional career choices they made.

The Miss Universe 1973 didn’t wait for any glitzy offers to come up her way, and went on to finish her education, post the title. She went on to successfully complement her husband in his business, as a partner, and is the ambassador for Habitat for Humanity.

She was Miss America 2003, and admitted being subjected to various racial slurs, due to her mixed and varied ethnicity. Just after winning the title, this gorgeous woman went on to take up the issue of bullying, and is a successful attorney now, along with the fact that she was a two-time Republican candidate.

This woman broke all norms of unconventional, when she came as a contestant who was a hard-core police officer. She won the title of Miss Universe 2002, which she subsequently gave up. She went on to complete her PhD and thesis, and taught at Saint Petersburgh University, also continuing her career in the police force.
