Often looked at with contempt and fear, Transgenders are the most misunderstood people on earth. The way they are born is considered a “mistake” for which they repay almost all their lives. No wonder many of them turn hostile towards the other genders, from a very tender age, and are almost always on the defensive. No matter what the circumstances there are certain people, and make no mistake they are people, who rise above the ordinary, ignore the bottom feeders who mistreat them, and set an example. A heart-warming and bold step taken by Yashraj Films last year when they introduced the “Six Pack Band” which is the world’s first transgender band. Their two songs, a fun take on Pharell Williams “Happy”, and “Rab De Bande” are already topping the charts, and people are loving the six trans members of the band.
We are immensely proud of these brave souls, who have dared to rise beyond the ordinary, and wish to see them mingle more with the society, and get the acceptance and respect that they deserve.
