CSK Finally Lost, RCB Finally Won an IPL 2019 Match – Twitter Had Its Say

More than halfway into IPL 2019, the battle lines are being drawn clearly; the minnows and the favourites have been identified. After a long unbeaten spell, Chennai Super Kings lost a couple of matches. After a humiliating dry spell, RCB finally won a match. Obviously those on Twitter had a lot to say about it all.

RCB v KXIP, match 28

RCB put the hosts, Kings XI Punjab in to bat after winning the toss. KXIP got up to 173 in their allotted overs, aided largely by a 66 (38 balls) partnership from Chris Gayle and KL Rahul.

Relief!

RCB overhauled the KXIP total largely due to the efforts of skipper Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers. After losing 6 matches on the trot, this had to have been a huge relief for Kohli.

Finally…

RCB fans would have been relieved at the reprieve.

The brief celebration

Fans would have seen the victory as a validation of their faith in their idol Kohli as well as his captaincy which was called into question.

But not for long

However, they wouldn’t have been too enthused by their team proceeding to lose their 8th match to Mumbai Indians thereafter (RCB lost match 31 of IPL 2019 to MI).

Still at the bottom

RCB are still at the bottom of the IPL 2019 table with just two points out of a possible 16 from the 8 matches. They are below RR with 4 points and KKR and SRH with 6 points each; all four teams having played 8 matches each.

Match 33, CSK v SRH

When Chennai Super Kings faced off against Sun Risers Hyderabad, they did so under the captaincy of Suresh Raina since M S Dhoni was being rested as a precautionary measure after a back spasm.

It was tense

There are a lot of people who are fiercely loyal to CSK only because of Dhoni and they were devastated that Captain Cool was not playing on the day.

The fans missed him

No one can replace Captain Cool, fans are convinced.

CSK made just 132

They lost five wickets and made only 132 to their allotted overs. SRH managed to overhaul this in the 17th over with 19 balls to spare.
