The sign is kind of like a smiley face, which other motorists usually ignore by giving a tough look to the car. But why? Let’s take a look.
Where’s the baby? I can see everything.
People are not unreasonable. When they see the sign, they use their x-ray vision to check if there is a baby really on board. If there isn’t then come the hard stares. Nothing however deters them from driving past at high speeds, or blowing their car horns. What if it’s a really tiny baby in a car seat that you cannot see through the window of the car?

People with babies should be careful to remove the sign when the baby isn’t on board as well. It will save them from the curses of other drivers and will ensure that emergency crews don’t waste precious time searching for a baby in case of an accident.

Stick the sign or not, it’s important to pack some extra tolerance before hitting the road with a baby in the car. With a baby, leave your daredevil days behind. Avoid hasty actions, even if fellow motorists are provoking you.
