Ways to Win or Save Money in Dubai This Week

Many banks and financial companies offer cash back incentives to encourage people to switch to digital financial transactions. Governments and other authorities also incentivise digital transactions to increase transparency as the government of Dubai is doing. There is also a push to make people switch over to public transport so as to reduce the amount of vehicular congestion and pollution. The authorities are offering people incentives for this as well:

Make smart payments

The Dubai government wants to encourage people to switch to online payments to reduce the pressure on staff at service centres and to streamline processes. This is aimed at the Dubai Paperless Strategy smart transformation 2021. This is a part of the Week without Service Centres and service counters will be closed.

DH 1 million is allocated

The city's Department of Finance has allocated one million dirhams to pay out as cashback for bills that are paid online using smart channels. This is a part of the campaign that seeks to provide over a thousand services online.

Up to 100% cashback

You will have a chance to win back up to 100% of the bill amount you are paying if you use digital payment methods. So if you have to pay your electricity bill or recharge your Salik account, make sure you this online. And if you're worried about how to do this, don’t. About one hundred service centre employees will be online to guide customers through making payments of bills, fines and other fees.

Use public transport to win big

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has allocated AED 150,000 as prizes for public transport users. This is the lead up to the 9th Public Transport Day on November 1.

Other incentives

Users of public transport will also enjoy other incentives. Those who use public transport will also earn triple the amount of loyalty points while increasing chances of winning rewards and prizes.

Other events

There will be a record breaking attempt for the most number of multinational riders at Etisalat Metro station on 1 November. There will be celebrities riding public transport and users may get the chance to meet one. A community oriented event by Moving Hands Free and Find your NoI half (where two participants match cards to win prizes) are other events public transport users will enjoy.
