This Mexican TV Anchor’s Tirade against Anti Vaxxers Is Hilarious – Check It Out

Full disclosure – I have had both my shots. I have also tested positive for COVID – twice. Most importantly I have seen the difference between the sort of disease that manifests when unvaccinated versus when vaccinated. So I have to say that I don’t get anti-vaxxers. When people lose their cool against said anti-vaxxers, I tend to have some sneaking sympathy.

This Mexican TV anchor’s rant

It is relatable. It is frustrating for the rest of us when pandemic deniers and vaccine sceptics endanger public health and wellbeing due to their own foolishness. Leonardo Schwebel is clearly very, very annoyed.

Show hosts were amused

Jimmy Fallon spoke about the clearly enraged Schwebel and aired the clip.

So did Jimmy Kimmel

This is another host who aired the clip of the incensed guy speaking volubly about something that he so clearly felt deeply about.

False equivalency

People of course made arguments against policies that require people to get vaccinated – in this case using completely false equivalencies to make a pointless argument.

People sympathised

There are a lot of anti-maskers and anti-vaxxers out there – and it can be frustrating. Meanwhile, a new gif for new memes!

Saying it like it is!

Some were happy that the TV anchor articulated what they felt.

You tell them!

‘Gaggle of morons’ --- a lot of people seemed to agree with the choice of words.

The dangers are very real

There is a lot of misinformation that anti-vaxxers continue to spread; contradicting well-established science. Healthcare providers feel exhausted that the increase in the risks they face, the burden they shoulder is directly proportional to the unreasonable beliefs and behaviour of the anti-vaxxers.

Others pay the price

Others pay the price – literally with their lives.

Sometimes anti vaxxers pay the price

Some prominent anti-vaxxers have succumbed to their disease following their public rejection of vaccines. It seems like poetic justice – but I feel for their families – even stupid people are loved.

When anti-vaxxers hold protests

…Instead of just getting vaccinated.

It is bizarre

Vaccine sceptics will question what is inside the vaccine but will unquestioningly use ineffective, untested, potentially dangerous remedies passed off as ‘natural’ or ‘herbal’.

Views on vaccine mandates

If they are urged to get vaccinated, they see this as an assault on their freedom.

Wishes and prayers

Some believe that if people refuse to be vaccinated, they should not receive hospital care either, because in a sense they chose to bring misfortune upon themselves.

It is unreasonable

They mistrust health advisors – because they would rather trust conspiracy theories than scientists.

They claim to do their ‘own research’

Which is often misguided and misinformed. No wonder guys like the Mexican TV anchor are so furious!
