The growth rate of jobs in the real estate sector – which accounts for approximately one-third of the UAE workforce – has been significant. As such job seekers are most likely to find employment in this sector. Requirements for building new hotels, participant countries building their pavilions and infrastructure projects such as roads ahead of the World Expo, are likely to create this spurt.

Success story of the King of Spices

55-year-old Dhananjay Datar famously went to school barefoot; hailing from a family that struggled to have three meals a day at one point. He owes his success to the UAE, and believes that his meteoric rise to success began when he came to the UAE at age 20. Today the spice king is able to afford a bespoke 2 million dollar Rolls Royce Phantom. His company deals in over 9,000 products and posted a Dh750 million turnover in 2018. If Datar's personal net worth is about Dh1.26 billion, he owes it in large part to the opportunities that he discovered in Dubai.
