Khalid Al Ameri is a youth coach, social media personality & influencer, motivational speaker and columnist. He has long inspired the young people of the UAE with his videos, his writing and his relationship advice. Khalid and his wife Salama are adorable! They are giving people some serious relationship goals currently. His recent social media video “My wife is my hero” has everyone going Awww!
As a mixed race person with a Scottish mother and Emirati father, he was often asked about difficulties growing up. But he has a refreshing view on cross cultural relationships. He points out that relationships such as his parents’, are actually the solution to problems such as racism, enmity and mistrust between people and cultures and nationalities. He points out that in such a relationship, only love matters; transcending divisions of religion, race, colour and more!
Khalid speaks about his family as just a regular family of four living a regular life. But what we see here is the willingness to embrace opportunities when they come along, the determination to see the positive side of life and not take life for granted; to recognise one’s blessings for what they truly are.
So there is some amount of soulful gazing into eyes and even some romantic George Michael playing in the background to indicate a couple deeply in love. But then there is also some arguing over restaurants and playing of playful pranks. In this video we also see Salama offering some tongue in cheek advice about giving her man space and about arguing with him just to “keep him in line”.
He's a husband, but he is also a father. Khalid calls it a ‘story about laundry’ but the video actually speaks about an important aspect of parenting: parents and their obsession with keeping kids clean. He reminds parents about the importance of letting kids be kids; letting them play and not protecting them too much.
He gives his wife credit for his happiness and success in life; calling her his best friend. He recalls the time before he met her; when he was lonely and unhappy. She encouraged him to have fun, go out, smile; bringing out the real Khalid. He calls his marriage the best decision of his life. He explains why his wife is his hero; because she was courageous enough to love him at a time when he was struggling to love himself!
Khalid and Salama are clearly a loving, understanding and playful couple who seem to love being with each other. His latest video went viral; garnering over four hundred thousand views on Facebook and almost half that amount on Instagram. There is a lot of love in the comments people leave on the videos as well – after all it is all about the love!
