Akshay Kumar Turns Traffic Cop to Make the Point

The messenger is as important as the message in our country. The same thing may be said by the friendly neighborhood traffic cop but we don’t listen. When superstar Akshay Kumar says it, we are more likely to take note. When they roped in the actor for the Traffic Police Sadak Suraksha Jeevan Raksha Road Safety TVCs, people started to pay attention to the message as well as the ads. Akshay is shown as a traffic cop in these funny and sarcastic videos and can be seen urging people to follow traffic rules. He has also shared these videos on his social media pages.

Akshay Kumar vs the wrong entry guy

This one sends out the message that road किसी के बाप का नहीं है  (doesn’t belong to anyone's father). Watch as Akshay Kumar assumes an unctuously sarcastic demeanour to check the guy entering a one-way street and proceeds to tell him why he is a fan of his father.

Akshay Kumar vs the cell phone guy

This one also starts with a father reference, (because people are so concerned about parentage in our country!), when the cop stops a guy speaking freely on the phone while driving. Here again, Kumar pretends to mistake the obviously Sikh man for a Parsi and cuts him a challan (fine) for his transgressions… With some earthy Punjabi thrown in for good measure!

Akshay Kumar vs Triple sawari!

There goes the guy, unconcerned with the fact that there are three people on the bike or the fact that none of them is wearing a helmet. There again we have the father reference and some more sarcasm until the actual father turns up and Akshay once again intones the road किसी के बाप का नहीं है  message.

Hopefully the ads will make a difference to our mad, chaotic roads and that at least a few more people will try and abide by traffic rules and regulations. Hopefully people will start treating traffic rules as injunctions to be followed rather than as tentative suggestions to be flouted at will! Perhaps more people will figure out that following the rules of the road will only keep them safer!
