For those of us who love chocolate, this is the sort of thing we may dream about: a river of chocolate literally flowing down the street! So when this chocolate factory leak actually happened in Germany, chocolate lovers (and others) on social media had a sweet time of it all.
This happened in Werl, Germany, at a local factory that produces liquid chocolate. One of the vats overflowed and chocolate literally poured into the street. About a ton of chocolate!
…To help eat up clean up the mess.
While some were calling for a ladle (there was a lot of chocolate to scoop up) others were thinking longingly of the amazing smell on the street when the chocolate spill happened.
Remember Charlie and the Chocolate Factory? Well people instantly thought of that when the chocolate spill happened.
Of course the Willy Wonka theme became instantly popular!
Before the Johnny Depp version of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the 1971 version of the film starred Günter Meisner as Mr. Slugworth.
Some tweets merely stated the obvious.
Oil spills are awful for marine life and the environment, as are spills of other sorts from polluting factories everywhere. This was perhaps the nicest leak/ spill of them all!
Women eat chocolate when they are angry? This twitter user clearly seems to think as much.
Germany is the land of chocolate concluded one. 25 firefighters were called on to clear the ‘chocolate mess’; many wanted to volunteer as firefighters for the cleanup operations. Bring on the marshmallows said another! All in all, it was an accident with a sweet end.
