I know, I know, this is a completely fictitious person so nothing about Superman is a ‘fact’. But try telling that to the encyclopedia owning DC and Marvel fanatics fans who rattle off vital and other statistics about this super-guy and seemingly a thousand others who appear to have some very strange powers (becoming ant size, drawing strength from worms, you name it!).
He has unlimited strength and is exceedingly fast – in fact we haven’t yet seen the limits of his abilities because his powers are supposed to get better and stronger over time. He is faster than a bullet, can leap tall buildings, is invulnerable, has X-ray, microscopic and heat emitting vision, we are given some very precise details about him: he is 6'4" tall and weighs 225 pounds.
His real name is Kal-El and his middle name is Joseph. His business name may have man in it, but he is an alien. From the planet Krypton. That is why he is super-strong and can fly and stuff. His weakness is Kryptonite – an ore form of a radioactive element from his home planet.
He puts on a pair of spectacles and literally no one is able to tell that Clark Kent is the same guy as Superman. He used to change in a phone booth but with the advent of the Smartphone, has had to change his habits somewhat.
Over the years many different superman movies hit the theatres. He was still fast, strong and largely the dour humourless counterpart of the suave Batman. What changed is, his suit got far more attractive and his abs more prominent.
She is the archetypal damsel in distress; forever waiting around to be rescued and carried off by the brawny arms of her hero. Why someone so helpless is the love of Superman's life is a mystery of course. Maybe it’s just guilt – since its mostly his adventures that land her in trouble.
As he dashed around saving the world repeatedly, he remained unvanquished. However, the wily villain did get the better of him. Not to worry though; like all great heroes he returns in the next movie.
It’s a curious relationship - They work together, they work against each other. They admire each other but also hate each other. Superman has given a piece of Kryptonite to Batman for a time when he may go out of control. Also I'm not sure what Batman's superpower is; except that he is very rich.
Lex Luthor is the bad guy in Superman films. He has changed too, over the years. Some liked this; some not so much. Apparently everyone has an opinion on the best Superman; as they do about the best worst Lex Luthor.
