When I first visited New York many years back, I was fascinated by the buskers who played instruments, sang, danced, did tricks or performed on the pavements and street corners. At the time, they had a small audience limited to passersby. Now that same busker can become a YouTuber and achieve international fame! Take QPark for instance: he is something of a phenomenon! He may have limited dancing ability but seems to have unlimited audacity:
So here he takes a Beyonce video and then goes into public place all over New York and amazes people. He imitates all those moves – in his own way. And he is on his earphones so people presumably can't really hear or understand what he’s dancing to – people are truly puzzled, to put it mildly.
Imagine you're just walking along doing your own thing on the street and then this dude just bursts into (tuneless) song, clearly tripping to some beat of his own! Of course those who are startled are also amused; some decide to join in as well.
Love One Direction? Well, Q Park certainly seems to love the boy band as he sings and dances with gay abandon to The Best Song Ever. Some people just stand there and enjoy the show – 1D are cute; so is Q Park!
He's ‘done’ everyone, so why not Nicki Minaj! So there he is twerking for his life. I have to admit I find Q Park's version way more entertaining!
Here he does 'choli ke peeche', including the 'kuku kuku' and the 'haaai'. Then he does the Dhoom title track and quite unrepentantly juxtaposes his hilarious, uncoordinated moves with those of the beauteous, graceful Hrithik Roshan’s. He then does a few of Sonam’s moves in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo and then does SRK grooving to 'Chhamakchhalo' before ending with some vigorous moves from Badri ki Dulhaniya.
His completely uninhibited style, his sheer audacity! He dances to K Pop, he wanders around for hours in NYC in a romper – just to get a reaction! At first people are amazed, then amused and then they are just forced into uncontrollable mirth – rather like the Minion here!
Indians love him too. There were some useful suggestions about what QPark can dance to next as well: popular songs that he can ‘do’ next.
The guy has well over three million YouTube subscribers. He just seems to brighten people's day with his unselfconscious antics. Who cares if he cannot really sing or dance! Making people laugh… that probably is a more valuable talent!
