BITS Pilani is experienced in giving start-ups a boost through their International Start-up Conclave, called Conquest. This year they’re also sharing some wisdom through these illustrations with a Bollywood twist.

Must have a great team

BITS 01

A start-up is only as good as the team doing the work. So make sure you hire the right people and they understand what is expected of them.

Don’t be shy or modest

BITS 02

Get visiting cards printed and give them out unabashedly. Don’t be ashamed or shy, give it to everyone, everywhere. You never know who or what might be around the corner.

Never lose hope and don’t allow others to

BITS 03

The path to success is going to be full of bumps, potholes and felled trees blocking the way completely. The team gets demotivated and deflated. To be a good leader you must know how to motivate and keep up morale.

Keep a hawk eye on who wants to get in on your action and why

BITS 04

Your start-up should be guarded jealously. Be very careful of who gets access to your baby buy investing into the business. A simple background check and reference check may be a good idea.

Say what you mean and do what you say

BITS 05

Nobody likes a word breaker. If you’ve said you’ll do something then you absolutely must follow through. Simply put you are leading by example and this is the best example to set.

Stay calm and find a solution

BITS 06

Murphy’s law prevails in all walks of life, so there will come a time when just about everything that can go wrong will go wrong all at the same time. Remember it is temporary, and it is up to you to find the way out of the situation.

Don’t back down, and keep moving forward. On your way forward you could do with a visit to the 12th International Start-up Conclave, Conquest.
