Xiaomi is no strange name in the Indian cellular market now. It came a year back and has conquered the hearts of masses and classes alike, and won the approval of reviewers and critics too. Also known as the Apple of China, and rightly so, given the premium features of the American brand, available at one fourth the price. With the recent launch of Mi’s Redmi Note 3, which is being raved about almost on every digital platform, next in line is the launch of Mi Pad 2, which is said to be an improvement over the older version. We got a sneak peek into the features, and thought of bring some reasons why we can’t wait for Xiaomi Mi Pad 2.

It features a metallic body, which is quite like the iPad, thus giving it a premium edge in terms of look and feel, over its predecessor. Also, it is a tad bit slimmer than the previous version of Mi Pad.

It comes in two very appealing and royal colors; Gold and Champagne Grey, which further adds the premium quotient to the looks.

With the display of 2048*1536, which boasts of a 324 ppi, watching movies, reading books, or even just plain surfing of text savvy websites, is going to be a delight with this one.

The internal storage of 16 GB/64 GB ensures that you are never short on storing your moments, or favourite movies, music, or videos. The 2 GB RAM makes sure that your experience is lag free and smooth.

Windows or Android, you can take your pick. Yes, this is one of the first of its kinds tablet that actually offers a choice here. Though once you go with it, you will have to stick with that software. Quite some innovative thought process has gone into this, we must say.

Xiaomi has ditched the Nvidia chipset, and opted for the Intel’s Atom X5 Z8500, as it wants the tab to be both Windows and Android compatible.

Like the previous version of Mi Pad, this too comes with an 8-megapixel rear, and 5-megapixel front camera, which are by far the best in tablet standards. Though we would have loved some improvisation here, but still, given the quality, no complaints.

The only downside that we found was the lack of external storage. Yes, like the iPads, this offering from Xiaomi too is limited to the offered internal storage, which is one disadvantage that it has over the original Mi Pad, which offers storage expansion.

Let’s see how the gadget fares, upon its release in India. Given Xiaomi’s excellent track rate and the love the brand gets here, we are sure that this too, will be a huge hit.
